Roden 304 - Douglas DC-6
Douglas DC-6 is an American Civil four-engine plane designed in 1946 by the aircraft engineering firm Douglas C-54 on the base of its predecessor. Series production lasted since 1947 till 1958, there were produced more than 500 civilian machines for that period of time.Since 1952 Douglas DC-6 started to perform transatlantic flights of the passengers of tourist class, which greatly contributed to the growth of aviation in general. With the advent of more modern Douglas DC-7 at the end of the 1950`s it gradually began to retreat into the background.Some of aircrafts in the third countries continued to be used until the mid of 80`s. Douglas DC-6 is one of the most elegant and classic passenger aircrafts in the history of aviation.
